Our second week of LEAD class was spent exploring our textbook, the Reader's Handbook. We learned about the goals and uses of the textbook, as well as seeing how the lessons were set up. After seeing how the textbook was organized, we practiced finding different topics in the book with a scavenger hunt. On Friday we talked about what reading was and reasons why people read.
Next week we will begin to discuss the reading process. First, we will compare the reading and writing process and then begin to look at the steps and stages of the reading process. A take home quiz on the introduction section of the Reader's Handbook will be assigned on Monday and is due by Wednesday.
The Silver Snow Leopard teachers look forward to meeting parents and guardians on Tuesday, September 15th at the Palmyra Middle School open house. We will begin in homerooms at 7:00PM. We hope you will be able to join us as we are excited to introduce ourselves and share our curriculum with you.
