This week we concluded our unit on reading textbooks. After spending the week reviewing important concepts and ideas, we took had our unit test on Thursday. Mrs. Mahaffey presented students with information for an in-class unit project that we will begin on Monday. Students will be creating a textbook on note-taking tools, making sure to include essential elements of textbooks. We reviewed the task, requirements, steps, and scoring guide for this in-class assignment. Time will be given on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday to complete this assignment. If additional time is needed, students may work during 8th periods or at home. We will then begin our last unit of the year on biographies and autobiographies.
Report cards were distributed on Friday, April 16th. If your child owes a fine to the cafeteria or library, report cards are held until the fine is paid. It's hard to believe that we are already in the 4th marking period of the school year - it has gone by so quickly!
