It was a three day week for our students, but we were still very busy! We began our new unit on reading non-fiction this week. We spent time talking about characteristics of non-fiction, what makes non-fiction difficult, and features of non-fiction text. Next week we will begin looking at different text structures. I am very proud of the wonderful Inspiration projects on essential reading skills and/or ways of reading actively. They turned out great! All students worked hard and seemed to enjoy using the computers for this activity.
Thank you to all parents who were able to attend conferences on Thursday. The team teachers appreciate you taking time to come in and meet with us. We are looking forward to a successful second marking period!
Don't forget about the can food drive to benefit the Caring Cupboard in Palmyra. Also, roller skating party tickets go on sale during the week of November 16th. Remember to check out the team calendar on the Silver Snow Leopard Moodle page!
