This week in LEAD, we learned about ways to read actively. These are the 6 ways or reasons: mark up the text (which I will get into later), ask questions, react and connect, predict, visualize, and clarify. You mark up the text by highlighting and underlining things you may or may not know. Then you ask questions, like what does this mean? We also reviewed the four essential reading skills. The four essential reading skills can help you become a better reader. They are compare and contrast (to see how things are alike and different), drawing conclusions (to use all facts to say why something happened), making inferences (to use past experiences to make an educated guess), and evaluate (to make judgments or opinions based on likes and dislikes. So that's pretty much all we did in LEAD this week.
